Finally it's time..

After having taken a break it's crucial we remove that dust from our gaming equipment and get back in shape!

 

For the new season the adminteam chose to add four custom maps by their own choice. Alltho none of the maps would be one of our choice, we have to accept this decision and see how it will go. For this season I expect us to have to fight for the top spot more than ever before, especially because it feels like the lack of good competition has made us weaker while others grew stronger.

It's been long awaited: the opening of the new Battlefield 1942 season

 

What keeps us awake at night is not our girlfriend, neither our wife, nor our kids, it's the new challenges for the upcoming season!. Now finally the new table and match-schedule have been announced, analysts are argueing over 'who's the favourite?'. Opinions are widely diversed: some analist groups predict the new-school (lop) to take control over the 1st place again, other experts clearly favor the old-school (pas42) and again others stick to the no-school (¤)ßmÇ(¤) . There are even those who don't want to exclude the rise of the phoenix (TL, CBS). 

 

The new season is starting with some unusual changes. The BAT (Bf-league Admin Team) announced several ¤)ßmÇ(¤-favoured maps banned for the whole season. Few custom maps remain, while 5 new ones have been added.

¤)ßmÇ(¤ vs. GUN|BF 26-07-2015

 

Our final game of the season took place last sunday. We knew we had to win the match to make a victory in the bf-league season. Recent days were not the best for most clans, especially due to the holday time. We never had enough people for a game in this difficult part of the season. In this last game we had to play against GUN|BF, a team lead by Nani, who is trying to rebuild GUN|BF strength from the past. Our map was Abandoned City, a infantry focused map. They picked Battle of the Bulge, a demanding map that requires good team organisation. We started the match with our map.

 

Round 1

We started allied. Everyone was ready to capture their flags, to kill the enemy. After a quick start of the round, we captured mid and pit. Unfortunatly something bad happened to the connection of some people. The game turned out to be impossible to continue for 2 of us and 4 from GUN|BF. We went to a different server. This start was similar but GUN|BF tried to stop our first attack. We controlled the map for most of the time. Our opponent protected the church with nade spam with 2 people all the time.

Sometimes they managed to gray one of our flags but we denied most of their comebacks. 4 people from our team fought for gold in last seconds of the rounds.

 

Round ends 135:0 for us.

 

Round 2

Time for axis side, where one mistake can cost you a lot of tickets or even lose of a round. We had a bad start, GUN|BF put a lot of pressure over mid and pit. We won most of the fights, but there were some actions where our opponent managed to get behind our lines and surprised us. The middle flag was always under attack, some unnecessary teamkills could cost us a round on the map. We recaptured every time the flag that we lost. Nearly 5 minutes before the end, tickets are almost even - 40:40, and we didn't have a single flag! This looked like the worst possible nightmare at the end of the round. With a ticket difference of 19:30 for our opponent, we captured the middle flag. Drain was still working in favour of our opponent tho. We had to be quick and some of us managed to do some good work around the pit. We grayed the flag - drain stops! 26:13 for GUN|BF and 3 of us died near the pit. Luckily Alexei was there and he wins 1v2 against Schilla and Knaso. This action allowed us to recapture the pit. We held the mid and pit untill the end of the round. The round ended with an ice hockey result.


Round ends 6:0 for us.

 

After a intense first map, we were ready for Bulge - their map. Last check of strategy, we are ready to win this match and what is more - secure our position as a leader of the current season.

 

Round 1

 

Not our map so the opponent picked a side. We had to start axis. We had to attack from the very start. The round started, we went live. Quick attack for the windmill was quite good except Mace died at first seconds of the attack. Luckily the rest of the team could gray the flag in time to stop the drain. We noticed some space for the M10 flag attack so we just used this opportunity for ourselves. GUN|BF seemed to be a little surprised with the attack and couldnt stop the wave of our tanks. During a fight we managed to capture the Windmill Sherman. A few seconds later the M10 was killed and GUN|BF was left with only 2 Shermans. We captured South Bunker. Our opponent put some defense in the city, but we captured it. We had to prepare to attack the main base now, everyone got into position. GUN|BF was not ready with all mines, hence we pushed forward. Our infantry greyed the flag and we brought our tanks inside the main. We killed leftovers of GUN|BF but we noticed that 2 of them were still alive. It was highly possible that one of them was already at another flag. A casual scenario for a game like this is that the allied recapture the windmill and axis still have to attack. For this reason Dary spawned at the windmill. One guy was still holding the main flag grey, so we knew at least one them had to be there. Rakan was killed in the main and Dary saved the windmill which ended the round.

 

Round ends 119:0 for us.

 

Round 2

GUN had nothing to lose anymore and they pushed like they knew they could break us. We delayed the attack but not for a long. We failed to manage to mine the bridge at all times, the wespe took our engineer out at the very beginning. GUN|BF at the same time managed to sneak some engineer behind our lines who put mines on the M10. We could kill the guy and remove the mines if the M10 would hold still but he fired at some tank and was blown up.  Now we were battling a tiger which seemed too difficult so our captain went for a suicidal attempt to mine him. He only forgot that he had no landmines on him and thus couldnt do a thing as he bailed from his Sherman to mine the tiger. We lost this Sherman and had to move to the city. Still we were being pushed and soon the axis had 2 tigers working against our 2 remaining Shermans. We had to prepair the defense of the main base at this point. GUN|BF attacked at several roads and our mines werent all in position yet either, they greyed the main and wiped the flag clean. Technoboy was still alive when it happened and just like the first round, the last guy was going for windmill. The situation looked very promising as the defending Panzer at this flag didnt notice him as he got there. Some expacks were placed near the tank and we counted down for the spawntime to be 0 and the flag to grey and for techno to blow up the expacks. Unfortunately as the expacks were detonated, our man was killed in the process and we lost the round quite big. This game and the season ended with a big bang for us :). We may have given away this last round with several bad actions but we were not sad about losing because we already knew that we won the match and what is more we won the league season!

BF-League match ¤)ßmÇ(¤ vs. lop

 

The most decisive match of the season has been played. After 1 team had recently been dropped out of the League (fatality), 3 remaining clans were still in the run for the top position. With <TnS> being technically 1 point behind ¤)ßmÇ(¤ and lop + having a lower ticket ratio they would need both teams lose 2 points somewhere in order to win this season. While we have only one match remaining after this one, lop has still 3 matches to account for. A loss by ¤)ßmÇ(¤ would thus favor chances for <TnS> but most likely still put lop in the most favourable position. A victory by ¤)ßmÇ(¤ would however make our chances to win the league season 2015  very realistic.

We were missing three key players for this match: Alexei, Qlimax and Drago. Also we had recently lost Watchlist in our team who would have been a key player for Operation Aberdeen. Absence of the named players didnt hold us back from picking the map anyway. lop seemed to be strong on tankmaps according to recent results and also Aberdeen (against fatality) but we still had confidence.

Maps played this matchday were Operation Aberdeen and Wake Island. Just a few hours before the match we finished our strategy for Wake Island and Aberdeen had not been trained either. We intended to keep our plans secret do to the importance of the possible outcome. Before matchstart, it was announced that the game would be video-casted and streamed by Flasche. Hereby we like to thank Flasche for casting this!

 

Wake Island

This map was chosen by lop. A tricky map, one which they had trained and played before against fatality with a very good result for lop. We, ¤)ßmÇ(¤, had not played this as a team yet. And without proper practice, lop was favoured. 

Round 1

Since lop started this map, they chose to start allied and we were forced to attack first. Our mission at start was to stop the ticket bleed as fast as possible. This might have been decisive in the end in case both teams failed to do a fullcap. We went for village with cover of the carrier (Mace) and the battleship (Techno) who destroyed the tank. Gue managed to kill the defender and we then managed to capture both northern bases really fast. Our Aichival and bailer had been killed in their direct approach for Airfield, but this was somehow expected. Unfortunately our battleship was also sunk by some incredible torpedo action, this made it almost impossible to effectively attack and preserve the south and beach flag at this point. We kept on pushing for the airfield. What followed was a intense battle for control of the airfield. But with the unfavored position of having to attack from the North we were forced to struggle more than planned. We attacked some south flags every now and then but also lost them quite fast again untill after 15 minutes we finally had our ship positioned there. Luckily for us, lop did not manage to take North away from us untill then. With us now pushing from south we finally managed to cap and hold the airfield. What followed were few attacks on North with multiply tanks and we almost were succesfull a few times but in the end lop managed to hold it with succes. Time was to short now to get a fullcap and we lost the round with 15 tickets.

Round 2

Knowing the result of last round, we prepared ourselves to care about every ticket. We were allied and had to defend this time. It took lop a little while untill they attacked us. One zero reached out to our airfield straight at the start but we had our anti-air (Shad) prepared for this situation and were able to kill him that way. Because no one attacked North Base and there was a landingboat spotted south, Gue suicided. Our tank (Mace) got bombed and we suddenly found many targets at the south base. Gue and Mace both managed to spawn there. Sunndae also bailed. We fought off the first attack. But now the battleship was getting into position. It was rough sometimes but we managed to fight off many attacks, we just did not get the ticketbleed back effectively. After approximately 12 minutes axis had a steady position at south and we found ourselves once against fighting from north to protect the airfield. Just this time we mostly still owned it. Do to some random attacks by lop to our northern flags we lost focus on airfield and at a moment found ourselves back to just the North Base flag which was also being attacked by a tank. Technoboy was swimming over to south and captured it while Sunndae and Hankes were attacking the airfield at this moment. They killed one defender and a bailer and also managed to capture the airfield back. Many spawned there and we kept on spreading over the island untill the end of the round. We didnt get into a dangerous position again and won this round with 33 tickets, which resulted in a 2-1 victory on the map!.

 

Operation Aberdeen

With 2 points in the pocket we switched to Operation Aberdeen. A tankmap and our choice. A map where things come hard to hard with only little space for tricks. Highly depending on teamwork, strategy, experience and communication.  We chose it for many reasons but mainly because it fits to our team and we had the confidence to beat lop on it, irregardless their line-up. For this map lop was also missing few strong players which perhaps was a little in our favor.

Round 3

We chose to start axis. We rushed for the city flag immediately but our man (Shad) died at the stairs. A bleedless period of plain firing and positioning started. After 3 minutes we/Sunndae finally got into the position to safely capture the city. Two minutes later lop tried an attack over North hills with 1 tank to our main base. Mace who was guarding this area noticed it and alarmed Gue who was stationed at main currently. After some action Gue managed to blow the tank up with some C4 action. Mace killed another tank on his way back. Our tanking squad near south and city managed to stand up to an attack by lop at about the same time. Things were going really smoothly. After 8 minutes we even took East Base. Few of our guys saw a chance to get North and went for it but failed. Meanwhile lop ignored East Base and went straight for south. Our guy (Techno) who was repairing at South Base was killed and we lost the flag. Not much later we managed to recapture it with 3 approaching panzers against the Sherman on the pad but we lost East Base now again. At the same time lop had another attack with a tank through the hills bove West to our main base. It was noticed and we awaited him with 3 tanks. So far we had the ticketbleed going all the time but after 13 minutes lop managed to grey the city which stopped the bleed. Not much later they had a guy on the roof and we got the bleed against us for the first time. After two quick but failed attempts to grey the city we noticed a chance to rush for East. Unfortunately at this moment that we were greying that base, the server crashed. This sucked but according to BF-League rules, after 75% of the map has been played, the result counts. We won this round 126-39.

Round 4

This round we were the allied team. We had already obtained 3 points for this match so far and only a very convincing victory by lop could make this game a draw now. But we always favor the allied side, hence we chose to play axis first. This looked really good already and we were at ease.

As always, we rushed to the city. This time it was in favor of lop to capture it at gamestart because we cannot really shoot at the flag from our side so well. Dary managed to kill the guy who went to capture the city and it remained grey for a while. No ticketbleed. Gue lost his connection at this point and we had to pause the game. He had to reconnect and get back into position after that, this wasnt nice. During the pause we discussed the situation and realised lop was about to get in greyzone at city. Sunndae bailed from his tank and expacked the guy. Another game of shelling back and forth started. We decided to blow up a tank to get on the roof at of the city-flag building. Unfortunately in the last seconds our guy got shot. Sunndae tried again at the same time lop had a guy going for the flag. He was in grey and expacked the lop guy but got shot again after. Our tankers tried harder to clear the city and once again Sunndae tried to get it but in the last seconds he was shot for the 3rd time. At this moment lop attacked East while West was left without guard. lop captured the east, this was bad. Just few seconds later we surprised lop by greying their main. Techno had driven a long way to get there, returning the favor of the first round where lop tried to do this to us. The beginning of the end for lop. From here on we didnt care about the city but instead we were perfectly fine with them having it. We just kept fighting with the purpose of keeping both mainbases. For the long-term this would favor us incredibly and we could be sure to have the victory. We guarded the bases heavily. One sneaky attack through the West Base hills was noticed and we were able to call it off. While we had lop locked in the city we noticed that we hadnt killed one guy for a while. Unlucky for him, we had Mace defending main the best he could and there was no chance for an inf to sneak there. Yet he tried and pulled a knife, but it was too late and a grenade from evil Shady caught him. In the meanwhile Dary managed to capture the city. There was only one guy still alive, we found him near the city and fullcapped this round (140 - 0).

We won the game in total 4 - 1 (501 - 256)

 

After this victory we now lead the table and the only chance for us to lose this position is if <TnS> gains 4 points in all their next matches and if we gather only 2 or less points in our last match against GUN|BF. Our chances to win the League season 2015 are thus currently very good.

¤)ßmÇ(¤ vs. FunGeneration 14-06-2015

 

Fifth match we played was against European team FunGeneration. Team mostly known from very good tankers and good tactical thinking, especially on tank maps. {FG} picked Market Garden, this was not obvious pick because we expected something way different. Our map was Operation Forager, infantry focused map. Our opponent agreed to play at least 9v9 what really was nice. We started the game almost on time, starting with our map. Match was played on pas42 server.

 

Round 1

We go allied, everyone in good mood, ready to win opening round. We start as usual, ready to kill everyone! {FG} brings a tank on island from the start. It cause us little problem but after killing it, we keep the round under our control. We make a solid line, enemy find it difficult to go through. Attacking boats are spotted before doing any bigger damage. Before the end of round we manage to push enemy back into main base. Solid infantry play combined with agressive tank pays off.

 

Round ends 160:0 for us.

 

Round 2

Axis side is not best side on this map, especially due to a paper tank and lack of a good counter to thompson. Our start is similar to previous round, we capture defense, control the mid and our enemy find it difficult to make any danger for us. Sometimes one of {FG} manage to get through but always killed before graying the flag. In this round our player Alexei achieve very good score by getting 30 kills in 11 minutes, and dying only 4 times.


Round ends 155:0 for us.

 

It is worth adding that during both rounds, one of our players - Hankes - did not die during both rounds - this is very uncommon! First map was played very fast and we started 2nd map also fast. Some of our people could not be that early, so we played 2nd map with same line up like on our map. Time for Market Garden.

 

Round 1

Our enemy picks axis side. Small fix of a strategy, we are ready to go. First minutes are decent for us, we are not loosing tickets and our enemy does not get a drain. We have small problems with small bridge but this is not the issue. Our planes are all the time in air. If there is a need Mustangs helps to kill a tank. B17 is always somewhere around to drop some bombs too. Everything goes very good till the time, enemy gets inside the church flag range. That was surprising because we don't spot anyone who could get there. This action stops the bleed and we have to fight little harder to regain the control over the map. We manage to do so and we control the round till the very end. 4 of us did not die during this round!

 

Round ends 198:0 for us.

 

Round 2

If you follow our match reports you already know we played this map against -=TL=- in 3rd game. This was a challange to win axis and we almost did it. By finding mistakes and things to improve, we were ready to get into a last round. Our start is very good, we don't allow for a drain for enemy. Instead we make it for ourself. We try to cross with as many vehicle to provide antiair above city. {FG} avoid flying over bridge so it is hard to hit them with AA. Our church crew is almost always around the flag to stop the spawn. It forces our enemy to use Parachute spawn. We die a lot but so does our opponent. We also control the ticket bleed for most of the time and it really makes the score better for us. At some point we had a tough moment because {FG} push us away from their side of map. We prepair anti air, kill all 3 planes and go again to city. This is probably one of best action of this round. We manage to gray flags and retake the control. We hold most of the flags. {FG} can't recapture the church.

¤)ßmÇ(¤ vs. tamplier 31-05-2015

 

Forth match we played was against clan tamplier from Russia. We had some worries about enemy server so we agreed to play map swap on team servers. Tamplier has already proven to be a quite strong team. During this season they managed to get 2 points from game against TnS. Clan with experianced players, skilled and high team morale. This time we picked Guadalcanal, mostly because we knew we could dominate our opponent on open map, even with possible difficulties caused by a higher ping. Tamplier picked Aberdeen and we were ready to show a nice play from ourselves. We started with our map 7v7 and we agreed to play first round with 8 after we started.

 

Round 1

We go axis, to start with better planes and more secure side. Beginning is quite smooth, we control all flags, ground looks to be secure and our air get high domination over our enemy. Tamplier tried to use even boats but we are ready to kill it before it does any high damage. It seems like our opponent is not even trying, but after few minutes they do some bails on our back, they manage to recapture their hill. It stops the bleed for the moment but they could not stop our will to win this side, especially with high score. By having already a high ticket advantage we retake lost flags and we hold it till the every end. Tamplier could make a nice surprise because they manage to control all the flags for 20 seconds. Too bad for them it is almost at the end of the round and it does not have any influcence on the final score.

 

Round ends 171:0 for us.

 

Round 2

This side we play 7v7 and we have some concerns about flags that tamplier could easily get from us. Our start is decent, we get three flags and drain starts in our favour. Our opponents try to get our defense but our planes are ready to give a support whenever it is needed. Tamplier try to get air dominace but they forget there is Butcherinho together with Drago in air. We win most of the dogfights and our tanks give great feedback by shooting enemy planes. Enemy try to recapture the city but we always have somebody there to protect it. Tamplier try to go outpost and our hill. For most of the time they fail. We manage to get enemy defense from time to time and it really stops all the attacks from our opponent. Drain is in our favour for most of the time and we managed to secure the win on our map.


Round ends 152:44 for us.

 

Tamplier had some problems before the first map, we took that into account but we waited patiently for them. We also knew our opponent has nothing to loose now so we could expect almost everything on their Aberdeen. We go to e.S Server.

 

Round 1

We start allied, promising start, city is secured and we are ready to face enemy tanks. We focus enemy fire and nomax captures the city for our team. Drain starts and we control the map. We do small attacks for enemy flags to keep tamplier busy. They have huge problems to counter our tanks but they try to break through. Nice teamplay between our tanks, we usually control all enemy attacks. Tamplier is no threat for us, the more round goes the better it ends for us.

Round 2

By having played first round and taking into account that all went very good so far, this might have been the round that something could went wrong. Small miscommunication between us and tamplier see a windows to get our flags. We find it difficult to stop tamplier because they attack with full force on spots that are hard to protect. We are pushed back into main and south and we loose important tickets. Organised call from our leader and we are ready to test our abbility to break through enemy lines. Tamplier team is on fire and it is very hard to stop them. They get huge ticket difference but we know we can overcome it! Our teamplay comes handy here because we make better use of it to our opponents. We get back the west and make instant attack for next flag. Our enemies are confused and do not know how to stop us. Drain works on our favour and we stop tamplier tanks before they do any damage. We control the round till the end.

The new recruit

 

After all clans recruited a zillion players, we managed to finally recruit a player ourselves, for the much needed reinforcement. :)

Its dary, also known before as RickMcCrank. Dary is a allround player, which is very usefull for us. We like the allround maps, and to be able to vary our strat from infantry dominant maps to tank and air dominant maps.

Dary will be a good fit for the team, and after some players of us dropped; or became inactive, or have some issues running the game, the fact that Dary can play any role on the battlefield has been the deciding factor.

Also summer period is coming up, and some of us have to work at sunday evenings. We want to win this league, so we got to take care that we still can pick a lot of maps and not lose to much quality when 1,2,3 or maybe even more of us can't play in a Match.

Spilling a point is easy, and can cost us the League victory, we are always aware of that.
